A cherished memory of mine, I was 10 year's old and never been to a baseball card store/shop because the only one close to me was a million miles away (my 10 year old brain 😂) so myself and two childhood friends got on the bus and transferred to Cisco's card shop and it took about two hours. I walked in and was blown away with how nice Cisco card shop is (still open) and I purchased my first pack of card's and they were 1985 Donruss and I believe I remember so well because I spent the only money I had on the pack of card's and I pulled a Kirby Puckett rookie and Cisco offered me $10 for the card right on the spot and I couldn't believe he was giving me double Beckett value or $20 in store credit and I choose the credit and instead of a dozen cards, I came home with enough card's that I started my first set (I still have it also lol) glad I got to share this with everyone. The shop is still open and thriving Cisco son Mike took over very young and has expanded to coins also. Located on Glenway Ave Cincinnati Ohio.

Always loved this set, as it's a nice mix of rookies (Clemens, Puckett, E. Davis, Hershiser), young stars (Mattingly, Gwynn, Boggs) and all-timers closing out their careers (Schmidt, Rose, Carlton, Jackson, Seaver). Looks like a black '80s sports car, and the color photos pop out of that border.

A nice looking set with black borders. The stripes on the
side remind me a bit of 1989 Topps FB. Key rookies include
Puckett, Clemens and Gooden. Nice set.
