My comments are a little dated as I just read the other comments. I too was puzzled with the 1999 Wheels Solo set (PR1) I had thought for many years. When Solo set (PR2) came on the market I was upset by its presence. I had card 43 (JG) from the set (PR1) for many years. I could not find the Terry Labonte cards (PR2//18/57) for sale. Accordingly these were not in the PR2 set sale. I bought from PR2 the second card JG (43) as well as the BL (17/59/77) and the JL (100). Disappointed the TL (PR2//18/57) never hit the market (Do they exist??) May never know. Curious the 9 cards not represented in PR2 set sale only represent 5 drivers (DC//6) (WD//8/69), (TL//18/57), (RW//34/55/74), and (MM//58). Randomness is missing. Just letting my expression of shock out on PR2 set.

The SOLO parallel set was released as a 1/1 insert set.

In 2016 (about a year and a half after Press Pass closed its doors) a nearly complete set of the SOLO cards showed up on eBay, listed by Dave & Adam's Card World, it was missing nine cards out of the 100 (missing #6, #8, #18, #34, #55, #57, #58, #69, #74). This lot could not have been assembled from pack-puled cards because it included duplicates of cards I had owned for over ten years at that point (#91 & #93). This set most likely came from Press Pass' vault of overruns, the extra cards they produced to use as replacements for cards that got damaged. It is possible that the nine cards listed were damaged during production or were received damaged by customers who received replacements. As such, those nine may actually be unique as originally intended.

Due to the emergence of this 'second set' of SOLOs, I changed the note on the cards in the database from PR1 to PR2. I own both copies of card #93, and they are indistinguishable from one another.

Sometimes in just all comes together. The great photography, innovative idea's, set design, the whole shebang. This happened in 1999 with the Wheels set. The set itself is first rate and the inserts are far and above some of the best the hobby has ever offered. Add to that an almost impossible set to complete, (Solo,x/2) and you have all the making's of a banner year.
A couple off observations, first the Solo set. No idea whose idea it was to make a set with a production run of 2 but he must be a cruel son of a gun. I have 15 of the hundred cards and would be very surprised if I ever got another one. Next the Runnin' and Gunnin' foil set. One of the most beautiful inset sets ever. I rated it a 9.5, the only flaw being the missing 24B LaPage card. I have questioned dozens of dealers over the years and no one has ever seen a copy of this card. Since the regular Runnin' and Gunnin' set has Lapage listed as 24B I suspect that the card was a last minute "Whoops, we forgot one" type of issue and the foil was never produced. If you have this card or have ever seen one please let me know.
