My first pack of cards was this. Wasn't super into hockey yet because my family wasn't a hockey family or sport family for that matter. I just loved the Canucks and Pavel Bure.

Produced by Upper Deck for McDonald's of Canada, this set consisted of 40 standard-size cards and honored some of hockey's most exciting players. Three-card packs were available for 39 cents plus tax with a purchase of a soft drink at participating McDonald's restaurants across Canada. The offer began March 24 and ran as long as supplies lasted. The horizontal fronts featured color action player cutouts on holographic backgrounds. The player's name appeared in a team color-coded bar alongside the left, while a small color player portrait in his 1994 All-Star uniform was on the right. The bilingual backs carried another small color player portrait, with profile and statistics. The cards were arranged as follows: 1994 NHL All-Stars Eastern Conference (1-10), 1994 NHL All-Stars Western Conference (11-20), Hat Tricks Eastern Conference (21-25), Hat Tricks Western Conference (26-30), Future NHL All-Stars Eastern Conference (31-35), and Future NHL All-Stars Western Conference (36-39). An unnumbered checklist card featuring All-Star Game MVP Mike Richter completed the set. This card was thought by some to be short printed. Since we cannot confirm this, we have not applied this designation.
