- This is the first MLS set since 1997. There was a set scheduled for 1998 but with the World Cup that year they scrapped the product. The set was going to feature 120 cards like this one.
- While checklists have several other players such as Eddie Lewis, Ante Razov, Jeff Agoos, Mark Dodd and others listed as having Sign of The Times Autograph cards, they do not appear in the set.
- Matt Jordan replaced Mark Dodd in the base set, while Mark Dodd still has an MLS Stars insert card.

I gave this set an 8.5 rating. Artwork not creative. Player cards for each team not balanced. No yearly player stats on card backs.
