Set: 2000 Sports Illustrated for Kids (Rate)

Card: #880 Paul Kariya

“ I used to get this magazine just to get the cards. I had no idea it was still being published until I joined the Database, the last time I saw it on the store shelves was likely the last time I got any, also in 2000. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Of all the SI for Kids designs I've seen, these I like the least. I wish they were made with better card stock, and wish SI would release a complete set each year of all the cards, I would buy them. ” -jupiterhill

“ Cooperalls!!! 'Nuff said. ” -Gunny

“ Interesting concept. I don't think I've ever seen a throwback card quite like this. ” -koloth42

“ Perfect card for kids. Always liked the SI Kids cards, and now that I have a son who is an SI Kids subscriber, I appreciate them even more. ” -vrooomed

“ In each issue of Sports Illustrated for kids, there would be a page of 9 perforated cards. Those were the coolest. I have over 400 of the SI Kids cards from when I was a kid. So many memories... ” -Howintensive

“ A very good player and very famous in Sweden for two reasons. One is becaus he missed the last penelty in the 1994 olympics and the secend is that he started his NHL career at the same time as Peter Forsberg. Ended his NHL career whit an exactly one point per game avarage. ” -Magnus77

“ This isn't a half bad design. Maybe SI needs to show Topps how it's done, they're sort of on a roll. ” -revnorb

“ Nice card. ” -uncaian

“ That's cool!! Go Sports Illustrated. ” -Dixxy

Set: 1996 Finest - Refractors (Rate)

Card: #B339 Mark Clark

“ I have some of the base 1996 Finest cards (non-refractors) that I can't find on the Database. Very confusing listing. Love refractor technology, my all time favorite parallel design. This scan doesn't look much like a refractor, probably my lack of experience with the baseball version and the cover being on it. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ "...and maybe, if you're lucky, we'll finish off this card of graphic Photoshop indulgence with a small photo of a ball player somewhere!" ” -revnorb

“ I don't peel the plastic off either. ” -yokonashiwa

“ I wouldn't say this card was a "Finest Addition"to any collection.Ugly design. ” -uncaian

“ I remember when the Cubs threw him out against the Braves in 1998. It was the worst bombing involving Mark Clark since Monte Cassino. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Park, Lark, Shark, Dark, Bark... ” -SaveDaKid

“ I didn't like those coatings you could remove. Everyone had their opinions on whether or not it should be removed, and how would affect it's grade. ” -suomibear8

Set: 2002 Topps UK Attack of the Clones (Rate)

Card: #69 A Noble Jedi Knows No Fear

“ I had no idea the British versions were so different until Dixxy showed me about a week ago. Something else to chase! This was my favorite of the Prequals, and I've seen it well into the three digits. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ This card made me remember those early Star Wars sets, from 1978-ish. I had forgotten all about them til now. Those were maybe kind of cool. This one looks modern and bland. Bring back color!!! ” -revnorb

“ Oh my God YES!!!! Something I can be proud of as a cotd!!!!! I found out about this set by accident as I was starting to expand my star wars co?lection. I merely figured it was the regular set when I purchased some cards off ebay. Since that realisation I have successfully finished collecting the whole set with all the chase cards through the same seller. Probably my first star wars build. The other version is on its way in the mail too. These cards are like pokemon to me. Gotta catch em all! ” -Dixxy

“ Why would a Jedi waste levels on Noble? ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Never seen Star Wars. Yep, that's right I have never seen ANY of the Star Wars and I am proud of it! ” -carthage44

Set: 2002 Decipher Lord of the Rings CCG: The Two Towers (Rate)

Card: #4R231 Eastern Emyn Muil

“ I don't understand what the Maneuver is telling you to do, and frankly, not sure I want to! (lol) ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I guess they couldn't come up with suitable conditions for a "Frodo's mangy hair" card ” -jackal726

“ Did Decipher change its name when I wasn't looking? ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Go not to the Elves for counsel, for they will say both no and yes. - Frodo Baggins ” -grim25

Set: 1999-00 Topps Gold Label Class 1 (Rate)

Card: #93 Andre Miller

“ Loved this set when it came out and still do. It was overly complicated, though. Three levels of base cards, then red and black label parallels. I pulled my first 1 of 1 from this set, from a single pack purchase. The backs were the exact same except the level, which is kind of a let down. (Except, of course, the numbered parallels). Andre Miller is still going strong, a key reserve on the Wizards' second team. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Is it me or is the woman in the back to the left of the G in Gold Label checking out Andre's posterior? ” -flcardtrader

“ I like the Mini-Miller. ” -NJdevils

“ Love the Gold Label design, but hate the multiple class parallels. ” -suomibear8

“ "I call him...Mini-Me!" ” -revnorb

“ Little Miller's gonna squash giant miller! He looks ticked!! That being said... Topps! What were you thinking with this design?? We Get It! This card is Andre Miller! We don't need the 1/4 space waste for the third picture to remind us! Back is nice though ” -Dixxy

“ Wow, who was in charge here? terrible...Love the effort he's giving on the layup...and such a fake game experience... ” -SaveDaKid

“ That poor little Andre Miller is going to get beaten by that giant Andre Miller. This is just a dumb front look. ” -yokonashiwa

Set: 2008 Upper Deck Baseball Heroes - Light Blue (Rate)

Card: #139 Steve Carlton

“ I hate the frail typography up in the corners, and the cheesy beveled box on the back. This card looks like it was designed on a MacIntosh IIci in about 1993. I suppose it really doesn't matter if only 49 people were gonna see it. ” -revnorb

“ LEFTY. Probably the second greatest pitcher I ever saw (behind Nolan Ryan). I was there at Vet stadium when he passed Walter Johnson for the all-time K mark. And cool card, too.! ” -vrooomed

“ Another useless, lower #'d parallel for collector's to go after. ” -suomibear8

Set: 1989 Star Baseball City Royals (Rate)

Card: #2 Pete Alborano

“ I'm trying not to make rude comments about the length of the team school bus. ” -revnorb

“ What a horrible shade of purple! ” -CluelessJoe

“ Speaking of the owe it to yourself to go to youtube and search Geroge Brett Story...true story! ” -flcardtrader

“ Looks like I'm going to have to buy a pair of those glasses they advertise on TV that cut down the glare. ” -NJdevils

“ Too much purple for my liking! ” -suomibear8

Set: 1993-94 Topps Premier - Gold (Rate)

Card: #345 Micah Aivazoff

“ Huge Red Wings fan over here, and I have never heard of this guy. ” -Howintensive

“ Great design and photography. Well done Topps! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ The design speaks for itself...what's his name and does he play for Premier? Blah! ” -flcardtrader

“ It's a sad world when there's a "Premier" logo on the card front, but no team name or logo. ” -revnorb

Set: 2012 Topps Super Bowl XLVII Wrapper Redemption (Rate)

Card: #SBWR-RL Ray Lewis

“ I still hate the Nike neckroll on this. ” -jlaz10

“ I like it when a wrapper redemption card is actually a new card, not just the base card in a different color. ” -jackal726

“ Interesting card. ” -yokonashiwa

“ I like this card ” -switzr1

“ Sandwiched in between OJ and Hernandez ” -volbox

Set: 2008 Topps Heritage (Rate)

Card: #152 Brian Bannister

“ I just don't like the Heritage cards much. I like how they aren't glossy, but I can't think of one design I really liked. As for Brian.... eh, he was forgettable, never got out of the shadow of his dad. ” -jupiterhill

“ Daddy Floyd Bannister was a great pitcher. Brian however didn't get that lucky. He retired after pitching with the Yomiuri Giants in March of 2011. ” -yokonashiwa

“ The 1959 Topps baseball set is my favorite card set of all time ((in point of fact i'm three Mantles and a Hoot Gibson away from completing it)), but i've never been able to pull the trigger on the Heritage set. The original design is so great that little things like the (R) and (tm) symbols by the team names really cheapen the addition, this particular dude looks like someone you'd see in an old comic book ad for Hypno-Coins. ” -revnorb

“ Ahhh, the '59 set was a beautiful set. ” -CluelessJoe

“ Thank god the Royals dropped black from their unis. They are the Royals, not the Blacks. ” -jlaz10

“ It was a long downward slide for Bannister after this... ” -UNC_Samurai

“ My only gripe about this 1959 design - the lowercase letters for the players' names. Otherwise, nice. And as far as the Topps Heritage sets go, it's a nice alternative for those who liked (or loved) the old designs, but can't afford the old sets. ” -vrooomed
