Set: 1979 Topps Alien (Rate)

Card: #50 Egg Hatchery

“ I wonder how many kids who weren't allowed to see this movie pieced together this set in order to get the full story. ” -DanD

“ Never had the cards, but was/am a huge fan of the movies! ” -bplay24

“ One of the last movies I saw in downtown Pittsburgh. Great movie, great card! ” -Gunny

“ Never understood the draw of this movie...doesn't interest me at all, but I am glad to see another non-sports card chosen as Card of the Day. It seems that non-sports has had a more rapid increase in posting than any sports lately (not counting the always steady baseball!) ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Another old movie card. I didn't have this set but I had/have many from other late 70's early 80's movies. ” -koloth42

“ Really? REALLY? ” -eyoung11

“ This is why companies like Upper Deck stopped making baseball cards. Luckily, Topps still does. ” -jlaz10

“ I can't even see anything. Wow its a card of a light. ” -Colts12

“ What? ” -Hollywood42

Set: 1986 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #314 Denny Walling

“ Another classic design from Fleer. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Another Fleer set from the 1980s I used to love to get signed, and the Astros were, without a doubt, the nicest team from which to get autographs- including Nolan Ryan. ” -PlayerPCCollector

“ I loved those uniforms. Can't believe they got rid of them ” -eyoung11

“ Ahhhh... The Astros jersey after the tequila sunrise ones. I miss both of them.. ” -Mike67

“ Love the old uniforms the Astros had back then. The orange they used really made everything stand out. ” -biggiofn7

“ Hey, I don't remember when moving the mouse over the card front seeing the back before! Cool! I like this design, the notepad theme is unique. And I've been to that ballpark! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Never saw this card before. Don't want to see it again. The back is okay. ” -NJDevils

“ The old "pop-up" collars of the 80s are not my favorite uniform aspect. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1995 Stadium Club (Rate)

Card: #57 Myron Guyton

“ Simple design from a simpler time. Design would have been better with a bit of a border. ” -koloth42

“ Nothing says mid-1990s like Stadium Club designs...although this is not my favorite card design, I still consider that time period to be the best in cards and overall. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ 1995 was a great year for cards, after the plethora of throwbacks from the 75th anniversary. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Pat Patriot was one of the best logos in the NFL of his time. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1981 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #605 Bill Stein

“ He lookslike hes not sure where to stand to play the position. Or else he might be trying to move out of the way of a hit. ” -biggiofn7

“ The hobby has never given Fleer its proper due for breaking Topps' monopoly on baseball cards. It was the lawsuit Fleer had filed that opened the door for the explosion that started the baseball card boom of the 80s and early 90s. The 1981 Fleer set was the first to come out in January of 1981, and the errors of the first printing run caused hysteria among hobbyists. At the first few card shows of the year, dealers were selling out of cases of product and running out to local candy wholesalers to stock up on more. Wax packs included a powdery piece of gum that, unfortunately, was no better than the kind that Topps always used. ” -PlayerPCCollector

“ This looks more like a 70s design than an 80s design, I wonder how long it was on the drawing board? I like it though...wish that it was used in one of my sports that I collect. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Despite being years ahead of its time, 'Win Bill Stein's Money' failed to draw much of an audience after the first contestant walked away with the grand prize of $48.37. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ This set was the beginning of the end of my childhood collecting. Chasing all the errors in this and the Donruss set. I thought back then there were too many sets to collect. Look at the industry now! ” -CluelessJoe

“ Funny when you see these older cards, how lousy the condition of the field is in the backgrounds.. ” -wamk

“ Ooo back to my youth. When I was collecting cards I really didn't care for Fleer. They seemed borning and often had printing flaws that made the cards look blurry. ” -koloth42

“ The original Mariners unis were great! It would be great if the Mariners threw back to them soon. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1988 Leaf/Donruss (Rate)

Card: #254 George Bell

“ Somewhere, Bret Saberhagen's card is crying. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ To bad the Leaf versions were identical to the Donruss versions. ” -koloth42

“ Although I'm not a fan of pullovers, the Blue Jays made it work. ” -jlaz10

“ You can ring George Bellllllll, ring George Bell, (ring George Bell)...hated this card design, one of my least favorites, is that the dugout railing? ” -SaveDaKid

“ Leaf? Je ne pas parle francais. ” -volbox

“ Hey, Leaf: Get your own design! Oh well... At least this one has the Jay's colours in it. ” -DanD

Card: #390 Ed Belfour

“ There's a mask from my childhood! He played some pretty good hockey for my Leafs, but I think of him more as a Blackhawk. ” -DanD

“ Eddie "The Eagle" one of hockeys most colorful characters & best goalies ” -uncaian

“ Shows you how much less conservative goalies have gotten while decorating their masks ” -Hollywood42

Set: 1999 SkyBox Premium (Rate)

Card: #150 Ray Lankford

“ I never liked this design. I have very few memories of it being released, even though I got most of the basketball series 1 when it was new in 1998. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I like the card. But than again I don't like it. I don't know ” -Young Kilo

“ Liar, liar pants on fire. ” -NJDevils

“ Too "busy" and distracting. Yuck. ” -wamk

“ If I could read the name and the set (Even though you can tell just by the shape it is Skybox Premium), this set would look super cool ” -Hollywood42

“ The Cardinals design will always be one of the best-looking unis in the MLB. ” -jlaz10

Set: 1991 Pro Set WLAF (Rate)

Card: #119 Errol Tucker

“ You can tell by the jersey colors and designs that this is early 1990s. I sure do miss those times! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I don't have any witty comments. I'd just like to say that my family was given season tickets to the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks, and we were tempted to ask for our money back. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ That team logo on the helmet and sleeve is super cool ” -Hollywood42

“ The WLAF was a complete failure. The lightning logo and size on sleeves pretty much sums up the entire league. ” -jlaz10

“ Not a big fan of the colors, nor the empty stands in the background. ” -nohascome

“ Got wayyy too excited when I thought this guys name was Orlando Thunder...dang it...oh wait Erroll??? ahahahahahah ” -SaveDaKid

Set: 1987 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #643 Outfielders with Punch (Harold Baines/Jesse Barfield)

“ I kind of miss the time when they would do random subsets with little stories about the players or teams. One of my big complaints about modern cards...some companies more than others...having endless pointless subsets. (IE, Press Pass wasting several cards on the NASCAR driver's astrological signs in 2004. Yes, really.) ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Barfield's hand on Baine's shoulder is by far the most uncomfortable part of this picture. This very uncomfortable-looking picture. ” -LuckyNumber78

“ Jesse's showing him a picture of a UFO. ” -UNC_Samurai

“ Actually those are outfielders with Sox and Bluejays. Not sure which city the "Punch" are with, though it would be a good nickname. ” -NJDevils

“ These 2 guys were among the best in baseball and surprisingly with all the talent on their teams never won a championship. ” -biggiofn7

“ Some of the best uniforms of the 80s on the same card! ” -jlaz10

“ Man I hate those Sox jerseys. ” -DanD
