Year: 1995

Set: Finest (Rate)

Card: #36 Edgar Martinez

“ Finest cards looked so nice when I peeled the coating off. Unpeeled cards like this drive me crazy! ” -switzr1

“ Nice design. Always have liked Finests. At least the cover doesn't have writing over his face! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ If you want to keep the protector on, great. But for scanning, I think only those minus the protectors should be scanned. This card is ugly to begin with, the extra words do not help. ” -NJdevils

“ I need Gravol after looking at this card front. ” -uncaian

“ It's interesting how the M's uniforms look pretty sleek today, even though they're 20 years old. ” -jlaz10

“ The protective coating always gave Finest that "I'm more important than all you other cards" look. ” -carthage44

“ I'm not sure if you can consider a hall of famer underrated, but if so, Martinez has to be near the top of the list. This guy was the Derek Jeter of Seattle, minus the send-off and all of the post-season appearances. ” -Id8jlb8666

“ What X-Men movie is this still from? ” -revnorb

Edgar was a solid hitter, but he's not in the hall of fame yet, and played DH nearly his entire career.

Dude, you're absolutely right. I could have sworn he went in a couple years ago. I would have bet on it. I stand corrected. Still underrated though.

Any player that's primarily a DH shouldn't get in the HOF
