“ Five stars all around! ” -carthage44

“ I like this card. OPC version of my favorite Topps set of the 60s. Good picture. Looks like the letter O is rolling into his glove. ” -switzr1

His bio says that his father and great uncle were former big leaguers.  In fact his father Clint Jones only made it as far as "A" ball and his great uncle , Leroy Jones, made it as far as the Texas League.

You have to remember back then, 1967,  there was no internet stuff to look up stuff.   Topps took a lot of things they heard or read as semi-fact and put them on a card.   That's why if Topps gets a birthday wrong back then, it usually followed the guy on all subsequent Topps until the end of his career.

Kind of like how 24 hour news media works!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
