Random Card of the Day

Year: 2000

Set: Upper Deck Hitter's Club (Rate)

Card: #66 Al Kaline

“ There is NO question when this card was issued! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Photography is really good in this set from what I remember, but it just has way too much going on, that doesn't complement each other. Seems like this was one of the sets that got the ball rolling again on legends sets. It was good in moderation, but I feel like Topps totally overdoes it now, especially when they repeat photos in different products in the same year.. ” -switzr1

“ I don't get it? why3K? Because they were very good hitters? They stayed healthy? I don't understand. I do like Kaline though. I miss the days of a player staying with one team their whole career. So identifiable just by the uniform. ” -RoyalChief

“ Too bad about the awful "why3K?" name and associated font. I'm also stumped as to why his height, weight and batting hand are listed thrice, instead of maybe a birthplace and/or birth date. Otherwise I really like this card - Even the oddly-shaped pictures are refreshing and interesting. ” -dilemma19

“ I guess this guy was pretty good. ” -carthage44

“ Don't like much about this card. At first I thought the "why3K?" was some Japanese writing and thought this was a Japan League Card. Back isn't much better. Color foil is just as bad or worse than regular silver foil. ” -captkirk42

“ Great action shot ruined by too much junk going on in the borders. Back is a little better, but not by much. ” -Doc Floyd

My favorite player growing up as a kid in Michigan. Heard he has a bit of an attitude, but 99% of athletes do. Met him once and he was nice enough.... Mr. Tiger. This cards a mess though.

Anyone know for sure if the Ripken auto from this set exists?  I've been chasing it for a long time and don't remember seeing it.
