Year: 1998

Set: Metal Universe (Rate)

Card: #60 Jamie Asher

“ This was the one Metal design I didn't like. Taking player images, cutting them out and putting them in front of pictures that had absolutely nothing to do with the sport...yeah, OK. But wait, they were all mirror foil to boot! I actually like foil...when it's used as an accent. Not when it's the whole card. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I remember Janie Asher as much as I remember this set. That is to say, not at all. To be honest, I don't get it. The White House? This whole set puts players in front of landmarks from the city they play for? Why can't they just be on a field? A big no in my book. The back is awful too. ” -muskie027

“ The White House in the background is funny. ” -carthage44

“ Let's see, in 1998 we had President Bill Clinton, so that would make Asher a democrat and possibly Secretary of Offense. ” -Sportzcommish

“ Cool a Redskin Random Card of the Day. Shame its the Metal Universe set. It is difficult to see some of the stuff in the dark all chrome designs you have to twist and turn the card around to get the light to hit the card just right to see whatever it is that is on the card. Back is OK but the vertical stats is annoying to read, difficult in the way of understanding it not difficult in seeing what it says. ” -captkirk42

“ Bit of a rough scan, which I've noticed with holofoil cards. The White House in the background is a really nice touch. ” -jasongerman9
