“ Cards documenting Hall of Fames are usually pretty good. This one is no exception. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ My nearest (not quite local) card shop always has packs of these and I usually get one. I love sets like this. Good way to own some sort of card of a guy who played before your time, if a large vintage collection isn't in your budget. I learned a lot about old-time players from cards like this when I was a kid and there was no internet. ” -switzr1

“ Almost didnt write a comment for this card. ” -parsley24

“ What is Swell? A company of some sort? ” -carthage44

“ If the card was from 1962, I would say it was great. But it's not, so it's not. ” -NJDevils

“ These cards are Swell! I really like the Baseball ones. Never knew they made football as well. ” -jayoneill

“ Colt HOFer Raymond Berry. My fourth favorite berry there is. ” -kents_stuff

“ I like the concept, but very bland, especially for 1990. ” -muskie027

Missed this one. I love these Swell HOF cards. Every once in a while I pick up individual ones. I probably should try to check what I have and what I want from these sets.

Im a fan of the oddball card sets. I still scan the grocery store shelves hoping to find current ones but I think post cereal were the last ones I found and that was years ago.

I have a 2011 Panini Gold Standard & Golden Age - Card of Raymond Berry. Both are numbered to /299 on the back and contain some nice write ups the I will share here.

The 75/299 Gold Standard #16 states: "Berry had a key role in the 1958 NFL Championship victory against the Gaints, widely known as "The Greatest Game Ever Played." He had 12 catches for 187 yards - a record for the title contests - including two key grabs on the overtime drive that culminated in Alan Ameche's winning dive into the end zone.

The 133/299 states "Johnny Unitas' favorite target, Berry became one to the best recievers of his generation. A three-time All-Pro, he finished among the NFL'S top 10 in catches eight times, leading the league in three seasons. When he retired, the soon to be Pro Football Hall of Famer was the career leader in receptions (631).

I won the csrds in some "Colts Lot" on eBay 4 years ago and don't recall the price but it wasn't over $10 I know bcz I rarely go for higher priced items back then.

Thought I'd share the info since I have seen these cards a million times in my serial # collection storage boxes & cases.

My favorate quote of his, I may be paraphrasing here, but it goes something like this. "Luck? Luck is when endless preparation meets oportunity. There is no such thing as luck."
