Year: 2019-20

Set: Hoops (Rate)

Card: #123 Kevin Knox II

“ About what I would expect from Hoops. Man, a touch of color anywhere on the back could go such a long way to offset the panini "copy and paste" feel. ” -Madden95

“ This is a solid set. Nice layout and photographs. It was always nice to count on Hoops for a relatively inexpensive set. No more. The prices for the 2020-21 cards are beyond ridiculous. Unless something changes, the "NBA" in NBA Hoops stands for "Never Buy Again." ” -Big Ray

“ Still using Windows 3.1 for the card backs. ” -volbox

“ Happy to see a Knicks card. Wish they did better. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Should be a "Jr" and not a "II" given that his dad is Kevin Knox Sr ” -pugchump

“ OK looking card. Sad thing though since Panini has soo many basketball sets and brands this looks like a Panini Donruss card at first glance. Sometimes I wish the card companies would go back to the old days of just 1 set per sport per year. Not 2 or 3 dozen sets per year, with thousands upon thousands of inserts and parallels and short printed cards. ” -captkirk42

“ The photo on the front is nice . . . A GOOD action shot is hard to beat . . . The back looks generic and seems in stark contrast to the front . . . ” -georgecf

“ Would have liked to have been able to collect and open these, but the cost of anything the last 2 years is making collecting very prohibitive. ” -muskie027

“ i now keep these cards where it shows the front row because you never know if a murderer may be sitting in the front row of the picture. ” -parsley24

Panini run out of color? Back is as boring as on 2013-14 Score hockey.

I bought way too much of this product trying to finish my set last year - two blaster boxes and something like 20 retail fat packs IIRC. And that still left me about 50 cards short of the set which I had to finish off by buying singles. I have tons of doubles - 176 different - which I would love to be able to trade or sell for cheap (let's say $20 + shipping) if anyone is interested.

Wait, this was 2019-20? I'd expect this design and style in the 1990's not these days. Dissapointing.

Brad, I'll take them!

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

I like this set a lot considering it's intended price point in modern collecting. The front is very solid for a Hoops product. If I were to change anything on the front it would be to make the NBA Hoops smaller and the team name/logo larger. We don't need a billboard telling us it is NBA Hoops. The Hoops back is what is expected as it has looked similar for a number of years. I would prefer a head shot of the player or more stats for veterans over the team name/logo taking up a third of the back.

I too have a bunch of doubles I picked up on a local collection buy if anyone needs some. I could fill wantlists or sell/trade as a lot feel free to PM me. I was just sorting these last week and could get them entered into the database if needed fairly quickly.
