“ Hey, I have this whole set! Bought a bunch of these from my friend's dad who had the local candy company. Also found them at a local convenience store. Topps in the 1970s had some great hockey designs although it seems a great many of the photos were taken at the Capital Centre as this one appears to be. ” -Gunny

“ Those were the days. When cards were cards. ” -jayoneill

“ I think Gerry Meehan of the Capitals is in better focus in this picture than poor blurry Dale. There are a lot of good action shots in this set (especially for 1978) - this is not one of them. ” -Tscastle

“ Ugly card! He had a decent career with the Red Wings. ” -tinyshogun

“ Nice late 70s Topps. ” -captkirk42

“ This is a classic set. The photo quality at the time wasn't the best, but the cards, for the time period, weren't bad all things considered. ” -BigBoyOnWheels

“ Great looking card, front and back. Might have to obtain a few. ” -NJDevils

“ Poorly lit rink photo, like many in this set. No. 1 pick in 1977's amateur draft; finished his career playing in Switzerland, where his number was retired. ” -Hawthorne61

“ Neat ” -pugchump

“ topps had some great designs. ” -parsley24

“ A classic design. ” -Brendan Barrick

“ Nice! The guy could score! He bought my dad a beer back in the day. ” -BigDaddy

I'm not a hockey collector, but this is a great vintage design on the front and the back. If I was a hockey fan, I'd certainly be chasing this set as I was born in 1978. You really can't ask for anything better from the late 70's. Great design and layout. The semi-blurry picture is not a fault to me because of when it was made (same with the off-centering on this specific card). NICE! And it gets a bonus from me for it not having the same design as other sports that year from Topps.

Love this set. Somehow wound up with a pack as a kid in late-70s North Carolina, a couple decades before the Hurricanes showed up. Took me a few years to figure out that the North Stars were not the northern All-Star team...

My personal favorite year for Topps. Baseball, Football, and Hockey I loved the design on all three. Now I just need to find those last few to complete the Football and Hockey sets.

Bit of a dark scan but a good card for that era.

Love this set. I've been working on completing 78-79 OPC. Great design, and a surprising number of great action shots for the late 70s!

McCourt deserves a lot of credit for players' rights in the NHL, and it's great to see his RC come up as RCoTD!

I have some O-Pee-Chee from this year, they were among the very fist cards I ever bought, from a garage sale in '91

The beginning of my hobby obsession lol

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

Just me??? Wasn't this the random card of the day here in the recent past? Like maybe sometime this month?
