For those asking a zephyr is the west wind that blows in and over the Rockies.

One of hte minor league sets that I almost have complete, 26 cards missing. I agree with Derek on the identity crisis; why do companies do this? Cards should be easily distinguishable to all belonging to the same set.

so very true Myrke and so much better than what Cleveland chose over the Spiders.  Also they understand proper use of “Z”, unlike the mountain compatriots is SLC Utah. -Randy

In the early 1990s the Zephyrs were bucking to get a Major League team for Denver, but another group was picked for the expansion team (the Rockies, of course).  I would've rather had the Zephyrs and their underutilized blue & green colors than the team that 'borrowed' their name from the NHL franchise of the late 1970s & early 1980s
