“ Looking at the back of this card, it is safe to say "SSPC" stands for "Super Seriously Plain Card." ” -Theron_Nett

“ I would love to see a set like SSPC in 2024. Simple design with nearly every player in the league and no parallels, inserts, or hits involved. Would never happen because it wouldn't make enough money from the breakers though. Still nice to dream. ” -hiflew

“ This looks like one of those pictures you get as a kid at the stadium dressing in your favorite teams uniform. ” -TripleLSupreme

“ Great, now add a nameplate, team logo, and position please. ” -chvlDm

“ Looks formidable, but that first sentence on the back is all you need to know about his likelihood of hitting in the clean up spot. ” -myrke

“ Pure baseball card set. ” -jayoneill

“ I came across this set around the time I got my driver's license. Though I preferred the Topps sets from the era, since they had stats, I found most of the card backs to be interesting reads. I enjoyed trying to collect all the Cubs. ” -SYTopps

“ nice mid 1970s card, back in the day I rarely if ever saw any SSPC cards. When I first started seeing them I wasn't impressed. They still look very plain to me, but they are from that bare minimum time so I don't complain about them for that. ” -captkirk42

I like the plainness of it. The focus is on the player, not the card company. It distinguishes itself from the other sets that have good (or bad) borders, noise, colors. As far as name, team, position...all of that is on the back of the card. Finally, is that right? Four HRs and only 4 RBIs? Not very clutch or played for teams with low OBPs.

jumping on hiflew comment I would not mind seeing it in a wax wrapper with a piece of gum, for nostalgia.
