Year: 1991-92

Set: Pro Set Platinum (Rate)

Card: #226 Jeff Hackett

“ A lot of hockey lately, a good thing! This set really should have had the player's name on the front. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Where’s his name? I appreciate the early Sharks, but cards must have the name on the front. ” -IfbBirdsCards

“ This was my favorite set for that year ,nice shots , full pictures & celebrity cards. I remember Jeff mostly from the Canadiens later in his career . I always liked him. ” -uncaian

“ Hackett played for several NHL teams, but I don't remember his time in SJ. Maybe I've never made much effort to follow Western teams explains why his Sharks career flew under my radar. Or perhaps his 13-57-2 record has a lot to do with it. Cool card though. I like the borderless front, even on a base card. Bonus points for the maskless photo on the back! ” -dilemma19

“ One of rare sets that do not have the players names on the front of the card. ” -carthage44

“ Front OK but I don't like that there is no info no player name, team logo or name as with the Football version hard to read what the silver medallion says "Pro Set Platinum" I think. Back scripted player name hard to read some of the football names almost impossible. No stats on back. IT looks good, but for practical collecting purposes it's bad it's bad. ” -captkirk42

“ When the Pro Set Platinum series came out I truly loved the clarity of the photography, but later grew tired of it looking more like a photograph and less like a trading card. ” -Sportzcommish

“ I myself being from and in Alabama can't really relate to the Hockey cards outside of some I bought at a once great Hobby Shop that existed here locally in Tuscaloosa from 1990 to around 2001. After that we lost all of them due to the overhead required to run a profitable shop & this area is now nicknamed Title Town bcz of BAMA FB! RTR!! But those I bought were from the mid 90's and were Hobby based, not retail. I have some Pinnacle, Leaf Limited, Topps Chrome & a few oddballs but I cannot literally name any hockey others players than Wayne Gretzky & Mark Messier (spelling) & I have a card of theirs from those packs that amount to around 150 or so total. I bagged & tagged them (all in penny sleeves, toploaders for the 2 & RC's & Inserts) as I do to literally every card I've ever purchased (60-65K!) So I can't comment objectively on this. I need to see who I have & of they are HOF's like so many of my older cards have in them do too! Nice Card though. ” -bamaman

“ Love these but wish they had player and team on front ” -aussiewayne

“ Just having the company's logo on the front was a major fail for Pro Set Platinum. Put the damn player's name on the card!! ” -rmitchell6700

“ Meh ” -DarkSide830

“ Good idea to have photos of goalies with their masks on. Could be anyone's grandmother behind it. ” -NJDevils

“ The first NHL expansion team since the late-70s. Then things got a bit crazy. ” -DanD

“ I remember buying these for $5 a box. ” -trauty

“ Love these but wish they had player and team on front ” -aussiewayne

I remember "OOOOOOH"ing when these came out, now its a sad chuckle. Good photos but not my idea of a hockey card anymore.

Nice full-bleed photos, but a bad overall design. Hard to find these cards without condition issues too.
