I have obtained many cards over the years signed by players and coaches that I have sent through the mail. Is there a 'guide' on pricing these cards for selling? Meaning, the 'regular' issue card may be priced at X dollars/cents but with an autograph, is it worth more? I know it depends on the player/team...more popular, worth more. Example...I have a 1997 Upper Deck Legends Of Green & Gold (Packers) factory set with several cards signed with Davis, Wood, Hendricks, Holmgren and Wolf signed. Thanks in advance.

I'm not an expert on this topic, and I only have one autograph, Drew Pearson's obtained at a local Wal-Mart over 20 years ago. But for any acquired from retail packs I'd say just check out what's currently being sold on Ebay, Sportlots, etc. If I paid for the autograph, say at a card show, then I'd add that to the price. Logically any authenticated signature adds value to a card, and any number of factors can determine what that value is as you already know. 

I'm less expert than just about everyone on this. I really don't do autographs. But I've heard tell that an autograph can actually reduce the value of a card. Because there's writing on the card. Sounds stupid, I know, but I've seen people recommend that it's better if autographs are put on baseballs or scraps of paper or photos. 

The ebay suggestion sounds wise. It's worth what people will pay.

Huh. Many of the PSA graded signed cards don't even acknowledge the year or manufacturer of the card. It just says "trading card." And they only grade the autograph. I think the value of the auto is quite separate from the thing it's on, unless, perhaps you have a very old card.
