I've only got some 10,000+ commons available. Good thing they weren't over produced. I believe one day the paper they are printed on will bring me more riches than the cards themselves.

Maybe a company that makes the fireplace logs would buy them.

Sooo many 89 donruss in my collection. Shipping would costmore than the cards. But isnt that the fun of trading... To trade.. But it may be just as fun to buy that yellow hobby box and search for the Griffy rc while filling your set!

Hilarious. I just did exactly that yesterday. Bought a wax box for $10.50 shipped. Cheap entertainment to open 36 packs and complete a set even though I could buy the set at my LCS for $5

Honestly, I don't know of ANY product where buying packs and collating a set is worth the money - but I do realize you didn't ask about money. I personally enjoy putting together the Topps baseball sets out of the Hobby jumbo boxes. One box, and you pretty much have the complete series (maybe missing 2-3 cards - worst case), plus you wind up with inserts and parallels, including a relic (or 2) and an autograph (or 2). If you like collecting those things too, then it makes for an enjoyable box break. If you only want base cards, and just want a good looking set, just pick your favorite set from 1985-1991 and buy a couple boxes. They'll be inexpensive enough, and you'll probably complete a set (or come very close). And there are enough members here who will have the cards you need to complete it.

I don't want to spend a fortune, but i do not mine spending money haha. I figure i have so many cards that are just sitting in binders or hard cases i should try and make a few sets by trading what i have and it will give me a hobby to do on the weekends. So far i was thinking 1989 Donruss, 1987 Topps and 1991 Topps. But if anyone has had success with other years or brands i am all ears!

I loved the 1987 Topps cards so much, I built 6 or 7 sets in 1987 (and maybe a little in 1988). I think I still have 4 extras.
