There's something about the basicness of this design that I totally love.

 

@NJDevils - Topps didn't get the NFL license until 1982.  Helmets were all airbrushed through the 1981 set, except for the Rams for some reason.

Hated it back then, and still not very fond of it now. Real dud set, recall being bummed it didn't include Roger Staubach, and later on realizing they missed Joe Montana.

But it was a different, more innocent time in trading cards. Think there was only one more year before they got to use team logos, and quit with the airbrushing.

Good thing the best helmet in football doesn't have a logo. Go Browns!

  Yes, love those licenses.    No logos.  You can use "Eagles" but not "Philadelphia Eagles".

 Love the design of this set but was not a fan that the team logos were missing from the helmets in a few of the early 80's and late 70s sets including this one
