Year: 1971-72

Set: Bazooka (Rate)

Card: #23 Guy Trottier

“ I didn't know Pee Wee Herman played hockey! Learn something new everyday. . . . yes, I'm joking! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Almost a comical looking head on this guy -- like it was airbrushed in. However, classic cardboard is always cool, and Bazooka here is no exception. ” -Slug03

“ Iconic hockey card design. Very 70's. ” -dilemma19

“ I would buy gum if these came in their packs. ” -carthage44

“ Best Card of the day ever. Ever!!! Gorgeous. ” -Howintensive

“ Never knew these Bazooka versions existed. It's weird how the logo differs so much between the one on the jersey and the one on the card. Even if they matched, this set is still an eyesore. ” -DanD

“ I absolutely love this card. Just took a look at the entire set, it is classic. Too bad it was not an actual base set of a named brand and only a bazooka food set. I would have loved to see a back on the cards and a full set. The design is great. I have to give this an A+!!! ” -muskie027

? My original comment isn't showing. I must not have hit post. Or maybe just saying "Vintage is cool" gets deleted for being too short? Actually I don't recall exactly what I said I know I mentioned something along the lines of "Cool Vintage"

Love that design, working on the Habs OPC team set, haven;t tackled the Lafleur and Dryden rookies yet though

Love this set; missing four cards to finish the 71-72 O-Pee-Chee set.

Muskie, these are identical to the O-Pee-Chee and Topps base sets from that year. The design was later re-used for a retro parallel insert in 2001-02 O-Pee-Chee/Topps, and largely stolen by In The Game for their "1972: The Year in Hockey" throwback set from a few years ago.

Captain Kirk, I could have sworn I left a comment on this one too, but mine isn't there either.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.
