Year: 1981

Set: Perma-Graphics Superstar Credit Cards (125- prefix) (Rate)

Card: #125-005 Pete Rose

“ I am surprised to see this is from 1981, because that logo looks very 1970s. My personal opinion is that he should be in the Hall of Fame, for what it's worth (nothing, I know). Off field mistakes should not impact a playing career that had already ended at the time of the mistake. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Never heard of this. Looks like a school ID. I guess not everything old is great, but I actually like it just enough to kind of wish I had it. ” -muskie027

“ Hmm? Can this be used in dugouts? ” -Sportzcommish

“ Love it! Never seen one of these before....love the early 1980's simplicity.....and oh yeah....the player was pretty good too! Wonder if you could charge a bet on this thing? LOL ” -tbshaw

“ Hey, a card I actually own. Weird set. Printed like a credit card. Hard, heavy plastic stock. Place for the autograph on the back--like a credit card. Crap front design. Hate the Phillies logo. Back ok in the sense that there is a lot prose. Never a big Pete Rose fan but I loved the Phillies at the time. Great player but sad that he succumb to his demons regarding gambling. Human frailty exists in all of us. They will let him back in baseball after he dies. ” -cjjt

“ Kinda cool if you can get the player to sign it on the back. ” -carthage44

“ Never heard of these, must Google. ... Neat! ” -Doe MG

“ Did Rose use this credit card to finance some of his gambling? Too soon? ” -Brimose

“ "Accepted in more places than American Express..." ” -mkaz80

“ Credit Card? Credit for what? Supplies from the Perma-Graphics company. It is a nice Odd-Ball card anyway. ” -captkirk42

Just picked up about a dozen of these from a show in April for the pure novelty.
