Year: 2012-13

Set: O-Pee-Chee (Rate)

Card: #566 Shawn Hunwick

“ I just watched a Blue Jackets game a few minutes before this came up. And they won, too! Design is pretty cool...it looks 70s but is all new. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I really like the retro appeal of this set and a lot of the OPC hockey stuff. I'm not a huge hockey collector, but if I was I'd definitely be keen on putting this set together. ” -mkaz80

“ Awww... a Bluejacket (my NHL team) that played at Michigan (my scourge). Which fandom will win out? Frankly, I’m a bit embarrassed to say I’ve never actually heard of this guy. Looks like he isn’t playing anymore. He played one game for CBJ in 2012-2013. ” -Brimose

“ Hunwick played his cawlidge hawkey at Michigan that explains the mask design on this card. He is also the younger brother of current Penguins player Matt Hunwick. ” -Gunny

“ Too much going on here. ” -carthage44

“ Nice card front design and photo. Don't care for the backs on most of the Upper Deck-issued O-Pee-Chee sets. But, uh, three career NHL minutes played. "Marquee" Rookie indeed! ” -bevans

“ Very cool card. great graphics. But to be honest I thought this guys name at first was Marquee Rookie. Great foreign hockey player name. ” -parsley24

“ Love that Logo! Going to assume The Blue Jackets don't provide helmets and he had to use his Michigan one! ” -rmpaq5

“ Speechless. In my opinion, French is the only redeeming feature of this card. Colours, design, back, subject...I see nothing positive beyond "marquee RECRUE". Upon further reflection, I'm amused whenever I see a photo of a recently traded or promoted goalie (gardien de but) whose pads totally don't match the jersey. In this case, it looks like Hunwick is wearing his Michigan Wolverines gear. ” -dilemma19

“ Love the retro OPC cards. Wish I didn't have to call cards like this "retro". Something about 1992/3 when things started changing over to thinner card stock and white bleached cardboard over the traditional thick unbleached cardboard. ” -captkirk42

“ This is so different that I like it! Gives me the opportunity to put my three years of French to use. Let's see, recrue is a recruit. I guess that's a rookie. ” -NJDevils

“ Nice "vintage style card . One small gripe too much Marquee Rookie. ” -uncaian

“ The O-Pee-Chee cards are over the top, but I love it. The designs work and look good, and I like the cardboard throwback. ” -muskie027

Retro cards are always a favorite here. And a Bilingual card to boot that kinda fits in up here in the actually only official Bilingual province ( yes. New Brunswick and not Quebec like a lot of people think).

Loved collecting this set.  Very nice all the way around.  Not sure about the "Marquee" for this guy.

Lol, took me a minute. Thought his name was Marquee Recrue! (as Parsley24 noted)
