Multiple Collections!? So, if I were to add all my Red sox team sets to "Red Sox Team Sets", would that remove all the cards from my PC and put them in that category or would it list them twice? Once in my PC and seperately in the "Red Sox Team Sets" collection.

If you do not remove them from your Main Collection, they would be listed (and counted) twice.

Tell me if this is possible:
- i set up secondary collections with Collection log and Want List with each one
- i remove that players' Want List from the Main Collection;
- another member accesses my ID and wants to offer me a trade
Will they be able to access my Want List from the Main Collection?
If so, when the deal is completed, will the cards be placed in the associated secondary collections and not in the Main one?

If you keep cards in sleeves, toploaders with the sleeves for those or Cars Savers I, then do what I have done for 7 mths straight in collating my own before adding and use a small precision tipped sharpie and wrote on the sleeve the cards ID# or Reference etc, heck, I grade mine and draw on them with arrows showing areas of concern like a corner wear etc for reference. It takes a bit longer but if cards aren't in sleeves at least, they won't do well down the road. The stuf drys in seconds & then you have a ID#, Personal Grade, Notes, Indicator Symbols etc like the architect use, green symbols pieces from a office supply store and use the square for Gem, Circle to show an issue, Pyriamid for pointing, Rectangle for this or that and so on. You can point them up and they are cheap, like 3-5$ ea and they last forever and habe rulers built in for measuring for centeredness and skew too. I use them & colored sharpies to visually stimulate my memory as to what that symbol in that color means. Sharpie sells sets of like 12 to 24 color variations BUT the 12 set is all U need as some colors are too clpse for guaging easily. I use black for the Year, Card #, Set, Sub Set then inuse Red for "HOF" Hall of Famers, Blue for Serial #, Red too for marking issue areas on the sleeves or slips. Some cards are black so black wont work as well on them but cards have places with light areas for marking them on the sleeves. (i.e. - TLC - TOP LEFT CORNER then, D-Damaged, W-wear, SL-slight issue, and $ for current values and dare it) U can't write small don't try cause it's hard for me and I write tiny but have info all over the sleeves for future use so to not repeat the sorting by condition and so on again. FOOS FOR THOUGHT.... GOD BLESS...

As of right now, unfortunately, it looks like stuff moves to Main only. The suggestion has been made to:
1 - be able to move cards between colections
2 - have trades go into selected collections
There are many wrinkles with this, such as:
I get 3 cards from you. One is for my 1972 set, one is for my Phillies collection, and the other in my HOFers collection. When the transaction is set up, how do we know which card goes where? This is a very complicated system, and it's only getting more complicated with every step along the way. I think our best bet is to move all cards into either the Main or into a "Recently Acquired" collection, and give the members the ability to move cards between collections. But, Admin has to be able to implement these.

Thanks, Dan. As usual very helpful.
I guess for now I'm 50/50 about setting up collections, then. Well maybe 60/40 that I'll attempt it again just to see if it works out for what I need.

Really all that is needed is a way to transfer from one collection to another. It would solve every problem. You'd have to go and click on a specific card that arrived in trade but that should not be too hard. I am holding out hope that it can be implemented because I want to move stuff to my secondary collection, but I don't want to lose the order and date of adding in the history page on my Collection Summary.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I would think that it would be desirable to have each card acquired by trade to land in the individual collection where it appeared on a Want list. Does it work that way already? or is the want list centralized?
-------------------------------
I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I guess I have not thought of that part yet as I have never made a trade and not sure when I will, not until all my collection(s) is/are entered. By that time maybe the kinks will be fixed. On that note, for me evenb if they were just to all go into a Trade Completed area, I would have no issue doing the last bit of legwork myself. But with shipping costs what they are, cross border trades will be rare at best. =(

I am going to try the multiple collections feature in next couple of weeks. I am planning on having main collection open in one browser, and the dupe collection open in another browser (just to keep straight in my head anyway).
when I go through a stack of new arrivals for one of my team collections, I like to add some to my collection, check a few regular traders lists, and put in dupes database ones that I already have and not tradable right away
