Anyone use 3200 count type boxes to store penny sleeved cards? It seems that the top of ultra pro sleeves is pretty close to the top of the height of the row. Anyone have any issues with their cards when putting the lids on or stacking another box on top? I like 3200 count boxes and might sleeve some cards, but don’t want to run into and issues with the tops of the sleeves. I know there are shoeboxes but those seem to have too much room and are better for top loaders. I’m just looking to potentially store some sleeved cards.

I’ve never had any problems storing. I do store my common cards that way.

Try it with a small stack. See if you even need to do anything. If the tops of the sleeves are touching or bending because of the lid you can try to extend the height of the box by attaching strips of card board to the top of the box. This would allow you to raise the lid to the height you want. It takes work but if you are doing 1 or 2 boxes it shouldn't be an issue.

I think the height can vary in older boxes from various manufacturers.
But I steer toward 2 row shoebox if I am storing only penny sleeved cards

In the last couple of years I've gone to all Chrome cards get a penny sleeve, at minimum. Never a problem with penny sleeves in any size box.

BCW sleeves are a little shorter than Ultra Pro. I use those with my boxes.

No problems here, and a tip I just came across is to put a strip of duct tape across the floor of each row of the box. The cards won't slide that way as much. Never thought to do that before.

Absolutely no problems. I keep all my trade inventory in 3200 boxes and all non-base cards are in penny sleeves. It helps keep them safe, but more important helps identify parallels. It is way too easy for a rainbow foil or a stamped parallel to be mixed in with base unless they are sleeved.
