Since the guy seems to acknowledge the issue and said nothing about fixing it go ahead and report it so he doesn’t sucker some poor sap down the road. My latest eBay chuckle comes from the guys selling a five sent card and claiming it’s a possible 9.5 grade and worth $100. The guy tip toes around this enough to stay out of trouble but is really pushing the upsell on his cards.

I thought about that, but I actually suspect that cards are fine and he might just deliver them well. I'd have no negative feedback to give. I just don't like the misleading advertising he used to get people to look at his listings more than other people's, which is, of course, why eBay disallows it.
I mean, I wrestle with myself over whether it's ok to say "semi-stars" in some of my listings, because I'm not sure if the players would qualify. At least that's subjective. HOF is HOF.

Were they baseball players?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I have reported several sellers due to various infractions, most of what I can remember were misleading listings. The last one I reported was our friend who was trying to sell stuff at 100-1,000 times the other listings - when he was stealing other listings' images and listing non-graded cards as PSA graded (selling "like" items). (Like when he was selling a raw 1982 Topps Ozzie Smith for $100.)
As a side note, anything listed as "Selling as a reprint because authenticity cannot be verified" means it's 99.99% positive to be a reprint.

I do not deal with EBAY sellers who are too lazy to take one scan of the item for sale and instead they scan 9 cards and tell you that you don't get what appears in the picture, only the one card. Just don't buy from these lazy ones.

I've had good luck asking for front and back scans of the one card I'm interested in. Of course, if a seller were to refuse to provide them then I won't buy from them. Same goes for sellers who only have front scans.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I only ask because I know the baseball HOFers by sight, but not other sports, so count me among those that might have fallen for his trick if it hadn't been baseball.

I’ve never reported anyone but I have had conversations about being sent the incorrect year and another one who packaged the cards so poorly that what was supposed to be near ment was near trash when I got them. I just gave neutral rating and noted I’d never buy from either again. Sad to loose a life long customer over a few dollars in trade. Poor business men but whatever.

If you are asking me then you are in big trouble.

Right. As do I. Which is why I caught it. I actually looked up a couple of players to be sure.
