As many of you know (if you read some of my other posts), I recently acquired a portion of the contents of a closing card shop. Going through this, I found some nice cards in the larger screw down holders (remember when they used to be reserved for those big ticket cards?).
Well, they don't look big ticket as they are all scratched up pretty badly.
Question - Does anyone have any experience with "cleaning up" scratched screw downs? If so, is it easy to fix? Worth the time?
Question 2 - If the answers to #1 are no, then the next question - would anyone want a few screw down holders that show a good amount of wear and tear? I don't know how many are here yet, but I know I've seen a good half dozen already, and I may find more as I go through the boxes.
Thanks
On a side note, some of the cards that I remember seeing in these screw downs include the 1985 Topps McGwire RC, a 1976 Topps Reggie Jackson, and 2 or 3 of the Pro Set Football autographed cards. My son or I will be getting scans up on here as we find those missing. This is kind of a treasure trove from that aspect!
Edit to add: This also means that there will be several (hundred | thousand) items that I will be offering for sale (only) here (as I have to use the proceeds to pay for getting the stuff). I am trying to be as fair as possible in allowing everyone the chance to buy stuff (and all for the lowest price you can find anywhere) so I don't always want to do the first reply, first to get method. This also means I may throw together some more of those Team lots like I did back in January, and if any of those who purchased any can attest, they were well worth getting. These would be the same. So if anyone has any requests for anything (MLB. NBA, NHL, NFL), please send me a private message regarding that. It would make me very happy if everyone on this site was able to get something from this for their collections!
