Not a new problem with this person. 

Oh! You've seen it before with them? Ouch. maybe direct submission priviledges should be revoked. One time, warning. Second time, after warning, revoke self-approval. If more come in after that, well, it wouldn't matter because the scans wouldn't make it to the site.

I will say, I have a ton of cards that don't have images on here, but I don't have the time to scan the cards and upload them. I applaud those that do, because it does help.

I'm seeing this issue from a different angle; whoever this is is knowingly breaking the rules and has privileges to make other changes. Do we really want untrustworthy people making decisions for the database and it's members? At some point, people need to be held accountable for their actions. If there are no repercussions for subversive actions; more people will follow suit in pursuit of the all mighty points.

Problem is that if there is a watermark, it can infringe on copyright issues.  That is why it is clearly said in the rules that no image is to be uploaded with a watermark from another site. I rather have no images than see thissite shut down.

I have stated the solution before: after one has 10,000 points, no more points for scans. Points would continue to be awarded for work done on the site such as checklists, making corrections to checklists, team validation, etc. This will not stop the honest ones of scanning and uploading images of cards they own but it will stop those who are too lazy to do anything that requires more thought and who just upload stolen images from the internet or the same back image in a whole set just for points.

I agree, this is time consuming for multiple people and in the end it did nothing for the checklist. 

Here's a thought - do we really need scans of every card?  In particular, with the glut of parallels, the number of cards on the site versus the number of cards needing scans is ever increasing.  If the ultimate goal of this database is to help collectors identify a card, do we really need more than one representative of each parallel color variant, or 1/1 plate?  If the player's image is there in the base set or base insert set - and if there's one representative image of what a "Cracked Ice" or "Team Logo" parallel looks like - isn't that enough to identify multiple cards of a player?  

Posting duplicate copies of card backs that all look the same is, no pun intended, pointless.  We still need complete checklists for each base card parallel, or insert parallel - with notes on SN, MEM, etc - but just have one card front & back to represent each parallel set.

Shannon you are right to bring attention to this problem. This is more than complaining about a crooked scan or washed out image. We can all agree that this behavior is not tolerated. It is blatant theft and makes TCDB look poorly.  

I'm in the same group and proudly!! I will not get into it but "using" pictures from other sorces is a bad bad way to go. I have said this time and again. NO MORE points for scans after 10,000 points. Yes to points for other additions, corrections but not scans. Just another case of a rotten apple ruining the basket. Happens too much in life but it is SO true. I think adding images of ANY card (front or back) is highly important, but the pace at which is done and by the means being used is IMO just simply wrong.
