Hey all,
First off, I'm new to sports card collecting but came from a very heavy addiction of MTG colllecting. I love the different types of cards/ inserts/ variety of rares, however find it difficult to find prices/ values for certain cards that haven't been sold on EBay. For example I have a 2018/2019 Donruss Winner Stays Purple Holo Dennis Rodman thats 12/15 and have no idea what it's worth. I have a few cards like this and was unsure if theres a source the veterans use that I should be looking at.
Sorry if this is a dumb question or if this is the wrong forum to post this.

What I collect: Celtics/ Red Sox/ Pats/ Bruins in that order. I will take any and all for these teams. Autos, Jerseys, SPs, RCs, and Parallels. What I have: building up my moderns nba and mlb collection. New cards being added every week. Always trading non boston for boston just shoot me a message!! |

You can try looking on COMC.com (check out my cards) and see if there's anyhting listed there to get an idea. Also try looking on other similar cards that have sold on ebay, so in this case try to find another Rodman /15 that's sold and that can give you a bit of a gauge as well. It's not perfect but it can be a starting point at least.

You can also use sites like SportLots to see what certain cards are being offered at. I looked for this particular one, but it isn't listed. With cards with very low SNs it will be very hard to nail down a value. However, if you use eBay and COMC purchase histories for higher SN cards (/100, /500, /1000, etc) you may be able to extrapolate a rough range.

Also, in relation to your original post. Not a dumb question and this is the place to ask. You'll find that everyone on here is very helpful and more than willing to answer any questions. Even long time users have questions and will come here for answers.

Unless you’re planning to trade the card or looking to insurance the card it might be a complete waste of time. Cards with such low printing can sell at widely different prices even a day or an hour later. Although if you’re like me finding a price is half the fun of collecting then go for it my friend and welcome to the site.
