Got a few of these new cards today--impulse buy.  Let me just say that this set's checklist looks like it's gonna be a pain.  According to the packaging, it's a 316 card set divided into subgroups:

90 Starter Deck cards numbered S1-19 thru S90-19 (the 19 represents the year)

80 Common cards numbered C1-19 thru C80-19

50 Uncommon cards numbered U81-19 thru U130-19

32 Rare cards numbered R131-19 thru R162-19

24 Epic cards numbered E163-19 thru 186-19

22 Legendary numbered L187-19 thru E208-19

18 Rookies numbered RK209-19 thru RK 226-19

Some of the cards have players featured on them explicitly (supposedly 8 per NFL team = 256 cards.

The others have game actions and are labeled things like "Sack", "False Start", "Audible", "Play" etc.  Each card does, however, feature a player and IMO should probably be linked to the player's PID and TID.  For example, Card #S84-19 is "False Start" and pictures Ben Roethlisberger, while "Sack" is S86-19 and shows Von Miller.  These cards are going to be a challenge, however, since they're not specifically identified on the card itself and aren't even shown in full color, making it difficult to identify the specific player featured on some. 

Of course, because it's Panini, there are "foil" parallels.  The ones I pulled look like the "Cracked Ice" parallels in previous Panini sets.  

I'm willing to start to try to piece together a checklist of the base set at least, but it's gonna take some time.  As I said, I think the cards without a specific player named on the card should be described according to the label on the card, but whenever possible, linked to the player's PID to aid team/player collectors.,

By the TCDB rules as I understand them, the cards would be listed alphabetically C, then E, then L, etc., even if this woud make them out of order numerically (U129-19, for example, would come AFTER R143-19 even though they seem to be grouped by "level")....

So Panini started an NFL TCG?! That SUCKS. I totally won't buy any of them them, but sadly, I still want the Panthers cards.

I do believe that you can list the cards in numerical order, even with a preceding letter. If you list them in the correct numerical order, the letter in front shouldn't matter. Not entirely sure about that though.

OK, it's not turning out to be as hard as I thought, although I still could use some help.  I got together with a few of my friends who collect cards, and we pieced together quite a bit.  I have a complete checklist for the common, uncommon, and rare portions of the checklist (cards 1-162).  

In the Epic section (prefixed with an E), I need:

163, 164, 167 through 176, 178, 180, 181, 185

In the Legendary portion, I have only L190, L202 and L204

In the Rookies, I have only RK209, RK210, and RK218.

One note, PLEASE DO NOT add to the checklist unless you have the card in hand.  Some of the mock-ups on the internet are different than the cards released.  Cardboard Connection, for example, has 4 images, and none of them match the cards that I have (they have C1-19 as Saquon Barkley, but the real set has Budda Baker, etc.).   

Glenn, feel free to construct the checlist using the number portion to order it. If, for some reason, Admin decides that it's incorrect that way, it's easier to do the alphabetic sort afterwards than try to put it into the numerical order. Thanks.

For the gaming sets I have and have looked at the checklists are ordered by number as the letter is just an indicator of the cards rarity. Also starter decks that have a separate numbering scheme than the main set are usually list in a separate checklist.

OK, I think I have a handle on this set (took a lot less time and effort than I thought).  It seems like the consensus is to list the set by number (ignoring the prefix), which, to be honest, makes more sense to me, but I want to minimize how much corrective work someone needs to do (I'm not an L8, so I can't do it myself and I hate making someone else fix my screw-ups).  So, there's a 226 card base set with a 90 card starter deck and, actually a 15 card promo set that Panini has listed.  Until I'm SURE the promo set actually exists, I'll hold off on creating that set and uploading the checklist for it, but for the time being, I think the way to go is to set up the 226 card set as the base set with the starter pack as a "Related Set".   I have a complete checklist for all 316 cards and have identified almost all of the players on the Game Action cards (so we can link to their PIDs).  There are a few I'm not sure of, but we can address that after the fact easily (I can do that myself).
