I have a Topps 2012 Cliff Lee 392....The card has a metalic gold back ground, all other information for the card matches the year. The back of the card is "normal". Im guessing this is an insert ? I find this randomly on diffrent cards......Any Ideas ? Thanks....

For the 2012 base set, Topps issued these parallels: Gold Sparkle (probably what you have) Red (Target exclusive) Blue (Wal Mart exclusive) Gold Black That was a light year. usually there are at least 6 meaningless parallels for the base set.

Ha, I remember the olden days (like say 1991) when you could still collect one of everything that Topps made. Now there's parallels where they only made 1 of each card. I'm waiting for the cards that are so rare that they exist only in negative numbers.

yes, 1 of 1. 50 years from now, Topps will issue "from the vaults", the originals of the 1 of 1's. Such nonsense.
