Quick question: In adding cards to my collection, I noticed that the card numbers were incorrect for the 2002 Fleer Focus Franchise Focus Jerseys (Football). The Beckett listing has the cards listed with a simple number, which is wrong. The correct numbers have a dash in them (ex. KJ-FF). As a basic rule of thumb, if the card number has a dash, should it be included when changing the numbers? I just want to be sure. I've seen some cards (from different sets) with and without the dash.

It really doesn't matter, but I would add the dash in the number.

That's kinda what I was thinking, too. Probably best to follow what is on the card. Thanks for the help!

As a basic rule, follow what's on the card. I believe this database strives for accuracy.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Yes it does matter .... Not to sound rude .... I have personally asked admin about that and you are to match the card as exact as possible just like Cigars has stated. Accuracy is a HUGE part of the database. =)

It makes a difference if you try to find a card of a player and you search for FF-TW and find nothing when the database has FFTW.

add on to that.. characters matter... so if the spacebar is tapped leaving a space, that "space" is a character and most likely won't get recognized / searchable

I always try to match what is on the card exactly too, but watch out for unusual characters. Once I was entering a set that had a # or & or ! or something funky like that and when I submitted the number change I got a wierd error screnn. I don't remember the exact wording, but it looked like the database thought I was entering a query as oppsed to a text string.

I'm pretty sure a "?" or a "*" would be bad in a database!
