Something's definitely wrong with either the posting or the person. There's no way ANYONE would be stupid enough to buy those 4 cards for $100! I know off the top of my head that the Elway has a BV of $2.50. Does the seller think these cards have invisible AU's on them? :)

Having traveled plenty in my career, I often use CL to find card deals. My experience is that for every good deal to be found, there are at least ten that are not. This one falls in the "Not" bin.

Stupid overpricing is not limited to Craig's List, sellers at Ebay do that ALL the time. It makes me sick. The sad part is most of these people think they can actually get that much for their cards.

Ditto! Completely on-point there. I've never used Craig's List but I see that all the time on other sites. Ebay is loaded with sellers similar to that, but not so drastic for base cards. Usually it's overpriced to cover the fees they incur from ebay and Paypal. I ignore those anyway. I'm not usually going to pay more the half the BV (after shipping) for any card on any site. I try to buy for 1/3rd of the BV and don't mind selling at the same rate. That seems to have always been the rate for buying/selling for the last 20+ years.

There are some sellers on ebay trying to charge $9.99 for late-80s, eraly-90s commons.

And there's a guy on COMC who lists those types of commons at $50 each.

Yeah its frustrating ....... I love the guys who list a card on ebay with a $120 US starting bid and nothing, then again at $109 US and nothing, then 90 US and nothing ........ all the way down to whatever until it sells or sometimes once they hit like $50 US and nothing its never seen again. Happens alot with Ranfords which is mind boggling. I guess they feel they must keep it because the book value says its worth this much. Meanwhile I sit at home and cry over the exchange rate .... lol
