Very cool read. I remember Mickey's number being retired by Topps. I got out of collecting in the early 2000's, but the commemorative cards from 2006-2011 look cool. In 2017 it appears they unretired the number, but at least put young upcoming Yankee players in that slot. This year it is a checklist card with the Brewers celebrating a home run. Oops.

Not to be that much of a "that guy" but technically Lynn's appearance in that 1982 KMart set is the image of him on his card.
I'm not going to look right now, but with how over the last 20 some years Topps has been issuing reprints and archive material of a star player by taking the multi-player card image and blowing it up to make a new solo card, I'd imagine that image of a non-existing 1975 Topps Fred Lynn solo card used on that 1982 KMart card can be found in a physical and officially licensed Topps product form.
