So I've been on the site for a couple of years now. And until the last couple of months, I only used it to keep track of my collection and see what was out there and to banter about collecting a bit. But lately, I've made a couple little trades and purchases. And once or twice I just sent someone a card they needed, because I happened to have it and didn't really want it. I didn't think much of this, and honestly, I figured I was nicer than most people. But now at least two people have just sent me cards I needed for free because didn't have anything worthwhile to trade. And I really appreciate it. Unlike the cutthroat trading of my youth, the collecting is almost part of a group effort. People want other people to have nice collections. It's a community. I'm a runner and when I see another runner on the street, we virtually always wave or nod -- an acknowledgement of our common bond. I didn't really think of card collecting in that way, but now I do.
So a shoutout to the card collecting community and its generosity. I hope and expect that goodwill carries into other aspects of life as well.
Thanks, Jaysee88 and others.
Ok, off soapbox now.
