Hello, I am new to the site and was wondering how to get a card graded?

So many diff ways these days:
Pay a fee and send it to grading company (psa, hgc, pwcc etc) is most common. You may wait awhile...6-8 months, but of course you can pay more to cut the waiting time.
Saw a new company where you pay a fee and send scans to be graded by its community, and there's another suggesting you can do it yourself where they conveniently sell the slabs and give "guidance".

Hello and welcome to the site.
I have gotten cards graded in a couple of ways. First I have met with company representatives at card shows. I have met with PSA and SGC, handed them my cards, filled out the paperwork, paid the fee and the cards were usually returned to me a bout a month later.
The other way that I have used is to hand my cards to the nice people at my Local Card Store. They mostly send stuff to Becket. They are nice enough to fill out the paperwork and when the cards are returned that is when I pay for the service.

Ok, thanks for the info guys.
I have a couple of cards but not sure if I should have them graded or just try to sell them as is. They are mint to me, but not sure that would stand true with the person grading it. I know the grade guidelines, but I am by no means a professional card grader. I have never sold anything on Ebay so this is all new to me.

The reported costs of grading with companies such as PSA and Becketts has sky-rocketed during these times so you also need to consider how much having a card graded will actually net you, especially if you doubt whether they will come back a 9 or 10.
