Hello everyone! I’m a new member of the forum so I have little idea how this community works, but I want to learn and contribute. Would you mind showing me? See you around!

Welcome to the database. Ah where to begin? I guess just start reading the forum posts and if you have an opinion or question about something there post a reply.
There are many database vets here so if you have a question about how to do something on the site you can write up a posst with the question.
You will notice that at the bottom of every screen here there are several links to various areas. A good one to start with is the FAQ https://www.tcdb.com/FAQ.cfm for some general info.

Welcome to the site. I hope you find it useful and enjoyable. Many members here are always willing to assist in learning the methods of the site, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. When I had started here, I first started cataloging my collection, and frequently checked the forums to see what knowledge I could pick up. After getting my collection documented here, I would occasionally add to the forums when I had a question or some information I thought others would find useful. Over time, the forums has become a great place for questions to receive answers and information to be shared. I have learned that there isn't really any wrong posting in the forums, though there may be differing opinions on a topic. Looking forward to seeing what all you contribute to the site.

Welcome!! Where to start!! Are you here to trade your dupes for cards you need? If that's the case, start by adding your wants and what you have to trade. That way, you can use the feature that matches your wants to others' traders and vice versa. Tedious, but well worth your effort!! Start small and you'll get the hang of things! And as noted, read the forums and FAQs and the user manual (again, links at the bottom of each page). And have fun!!

Welcome, Harry!
As you can see from the excellent replies so far, TCDB is a great resource with a lot "under the hood". How many resources and features you use will depend on your collecting goals (organizing your collection, trading some cards with other members, etc.), but regardless, you're bound to enjoy it here. There are so many helpful, generous members of the community.
Have fun!

Welcome
One thing I have find out about this site is: It is a community of people who are interested is all types trading card collecting and willing to pass along information about what they know. We have a lot of members that have been here for years and others that came and gone. Even a few that went away but come back. We have members that have a lot of knowledge in a lot of areas.
We have members collecting any thing and every thing they can and member just collecting one player or type of cards. So any type of collector or some one just interested in reading about trading cards should enjoy this site. Members use this site in many ways, just find what you like and enjoy your time here.
Due to the fact it is a crowd source site you will find errors and issues but the members do work them out. As stated before check out ways you can help and learn how to do it correctly. Do not take it personally if someone corrects you we all have made mistakes. There are a lot of members willing to help you out. Then go for it.
There are a few postings for new members to read. There are others that should read them also.
Enjoy the site

Yes we all like to help.
I have help with new members on trading and what happens in the back ground in cards moving from one person to another and no need to change staus of card from want to have as database will do it for you
It can go from WANT to IN TRANSACTION (stops others from offering same card) to IN TRANSIT (means it is sent) to RECEIVED ( you got the traded card on your end)
TRADE MATCH shows people who have a card you need or cards you have they need You find this on profile page traded section at bottom

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards
