AS everyone knows , This is me and my 2 sons J.R. & A.J. that collect. We all have favorite sports, Teams and Players to collect, But we have a great time doing it. I stopped collecting cause life got in the way growing up, But so happy my boys got me bac into it.

I used to open packs with my son. First he'd help me open boxes (something I no longer do) and then would happily pull out the inserts and rub them in my face. For awhile he was collecting soccer cards so I'd buy him boxes on sale for him to open. No too long ago you could get the Donruss boxes for under $30; last I look they are 10x that amount, crazy. As he's now nearly 16 he's moved away from that for now, more into his anime, but still has everything at my place. He few AUs he picked up do adorned his desk at his mom's though.

I started collecting in the middle to late 1980's with some friends.  My son and I starting collecting about 3 years ago.  I mostly collect baseball, he collects football, and together we collect basketball.  When we find retail packs we pick up them, but there is not always product.  

My 14yo son was collecting non sports for a while - Star Wars and Batman. His interests have shifted and he is more into video games and music right now. My daughters (15 + 12) have zero interest in collecting. My dad still collects hockey cards.
