When someone counters a trade offer, it goes to "Countering..." and usually one just has to wait until the trade is actually countered and shows up in the Offers tab. However, if the other party never actually counters and it just sits there in the Proposed tab, is there a way to either cancel the trade (thus preventing the counter) or send it to a kind of Unfinished state? I know that one can send a personal message (or two) and try to remind the other user about the limbo trade, but what if it never happens?

Yep, I already did that, but unfortunately there's no evidence of a way to withdraw a 'Countering...' trade once the other party has already started the countering process. If someone never actually ends up countering, is there someone to contact to possibly withdraw/remove the trade from the Proposals tab?

Bump! I have a feeling there is no way to do it, but thought I'd inquire one more time.

From what I have seen you have to wait for the other party to finish and submit the counter offer. I had one once like this that was in countering for several days.

Contact the other party via messages and ask them to update the status.

Thanks edk. I did send two messages earlier but no dice. Maybe I can add a feature request to vote on to allow someone to deny a counter trade if it's in limbo.

"My partner's proposal has been stuck on "countering" for a while, is it possible to delete it?

Any proposals left in the "countering" phase by a potential trading partner will disappear from your view after 30 days. It will still show up in their view and they can decide whether to complete the proposal or withdraw it at a later date."
