One type of card you try to avoid adding to a personal collection.
Mine is the masked players. I hate them.

I'm not crazy about the "not-cards" cards. Things like candy lids, coins, bottle caps, Christmas ornaments. Even box toppers and oversized/mini cards. Also not crazy about the sticker cards.

Do you mean catchers, or cards with photos from the pandemic where players wore masks? I hate those too. But I like catchers.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

If collecting a set of cards you would just not collect those? Interesting. Sounds political, I would say its historical and infinitely more interesting in 20 years than two guys jumping up and giving a high five saying something like "Soar into Wins" or something else dumb like that.

I'm mostly organizing over adding right now.

I love these fun forum questions. My initial thoughts were index cards, report cards and the six of clubs. But then I thought more seriously about it. Let's go with:
1. Duplicates; while also a smart-alecky answer, this one also has strong merit. I'm keeping it.
2. Cards from multi-sport sets--they just confuse me when I'm trying to find them in TCDB.
3. I'm not a big fan of chrome cards.

Early Chrome style cards, though wouldn't avoid them...
Early Maxx Chromes all curled on me, slightly, but still irritating....

I like some of those. Stickers need a real card as the back of the sticker.

Cards featuring athlete's not in uniform. For example those posed Studio cards of the early 1990's, or cards released by player associations/unions, usually during contract negotiations, that show us common folk that pro athlete's are really no different than you or I. You know the ones with photo's of them at home with their pets, or working on rare vintage cars in their driveways, sitting on a custom made motorcycle in front of a mansion etc.

Yes I mean those as main cards. Catcher masks are okay. I noticed today a lot of the Nascar drivers posed with masks in a particular set. I don't like them at all.

You better believe it is political. I want to see the face of those rookies when they knock the ball out of the park, not some white medical mask.
