I don't think he has a favorite hockey player, or even really can remember the name of one. I think he just likes those cards because they were his very first sports card pack he opened.

I remeber being on the other side of this I was a fifth or sixth grader and for christmas my parents bought a 50 pack of blazers cards at a game and that was one of my favorite christmas gifts. Then I was given around 25k cards from someone downsizing and I was so happy and had a lot of fun recieving them. I still have them today and love having them.

Great story. My kids never got into collecting cards as much as I do. Even if I'm a team collector. Now my son almost 20 has got into MTG cards. I see the excitement in his face as he opens packs as I had when I was younger. I try to understand the Magic game but I guess I'm to old for that. But his passion for it is the same as I have for my Flyers cards

Great story! I love reading things like this on this forum. Also, cardcollector65jw, I recall getting football cards one time for Christmas when I was just starting out and thought it was the best gift ever.
