Im curious. Does anyone still track checklists/wantlists, or collections using a notebook? For some reason ive had an itch to start doing this.
Growing up my grandpa use to track his hockey cards in a little notebook and update values ect occasionally.
id like to hear stories of something similar.

Not quite collection tracking but you did mention notebooks. That mention brought back a memory of my youth and the time I set up a Strat-O-Matic baseball league. I made a 10 team National League and a 10 team American League and I kept all the stats in a notebook.
Funny thing is I had kind of forgotten about it until Mrs Gunny found that notebook whilst we were cleaning out some old attic boxes.

I rarely carry a cell phone with me so I still keep a paper wantlist folded up in my wallet for sets which I am actively trying to complete.

It's how I used to do it, but it's so much easier keeping track on spreadsheets now

I keep two cheat-sheets in my wallet at all times. I get lost in the sticks at different antique shops looking for my particular collection. Internet signal is spotty at best.

I used to have a three ring binder that I kept track of my collection. Once I found this site everything is here. I do have a spreadsheet to track my sets completion percentage and quantity of cards I need.

Far too many cards to track by hand now, but I have printed off some checklists from the DB that I have marked off by hand while working on a set. LOVE the printable checklist (with boxes) feature of this site.

Paper, even 3x5 cards for awhile....
Then retired from Army and got a better PC....
Spreadsheets, though I let the hobby sit idle for 10 years or so...
As mentioned, still haul around a printed list of cards needed....

I maintain several spreadsheets to track my collection outside of what is also in here. I also have a spreadsheet specifically for shows. It has all my vintage needs as that is what I focus on there. It's to the point where the dealers I work with know how to read my notes (need, upgrade and why, etc.). Kind of satisfying watching the number of rows slowly shrink each time I update it when I get back.
