Just curious question to the group. I was wondering how everyone stores the duplicate cards everyone gets from collecting. Should they be stored in penny savers also? Thought So?

My doubles don't stay around very long any more. I either sell or trade them right away. I used to keep them all in penny savers, but frankly that was a lot of work. I think if you don't intend to constantly handle them, they can stay in cardboard boxes or in the little plastic boxes, depending on the volume. I'm sure others might differ. Anything more valuable, I put in penny sleeves or more.
Good luck.

I tend to use 3,200 count boxes, tried the 5,000 count size but a few of those full are a pain to have to deal with. Have had to just use the boxes they come in too, or any of the various other sizes of boxes from 100 to 1,000.
I don't bother with penny sleeves except for cards going in top-loaders. Not a fan of those plastic boxes, but if I do use them I put a "dummy" card or two at the bottom and top, those things will ding the corners, especially hate when someone ships cards to me in those, not had good results.
Have had stacks and stacks just sitting around before, but that's not good for them. I don't care for albums full of pages either, seen bad stuff happen to those.

Mine sit in 5000ct boxes, completely unsorted. Not even separated by sport. Which made trading a nightmare when I was doing that. Every trade I pulled off was typically an all-day event, finding the requested cards. I don't put doubles on a trade list on TCDB anymore. Between the time spent finding specific cards, and the paranoia that someone won't like the way I shipped them, I'm done trading. Which means I'm stuck with several thousand unwanted doubles!!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Wow switzr1, thought I had a mess to deal with. I plan to just burn what I can't rid of at some point.

I have three 3200ct boxes (Football, Baseball, and Basketball/Hockey) that stay sorted so I don't end up in a situation similar to switzr1.

I have 400,000+ doubles, primarily of the 4 major sports. I know this sounds anal, but, I have them all in numbered 3200 count boxes, cross referenced by boxes/columns to an excell spreadsheet. I can generally find any card I need for a trade or sale in no time.

I do like Kaline6. I have over 400,000 doubles in baseball. They are sorted by the major companies, years, and numbers. I store them in the boxes that I have accumulated from buying large lots. Everything from 3200 count boxes to 5000 count boxes. Then for ten of the sets that I have over 10,000 doubles of, I have large boxes that I can get about 13,000 cards in. And yes, those are heavy.
The work in sorting all of these cards this way and keeping it organized has made trading an easy task for me. Most days, when the trade is proposed, I can pull all of the cards within 30 minutes (of course depending on how many) and send out the cards the next day.
