I collected all types of cards, signed, not signed etc. lately I have been seeing a lot of jersey or patch cards. Unsure about them but have been gettiing a few here and there and trying to get the first ones. What are your thoughts about jersey cards?

Cool concept when they first came out. There are a few that I would like to have. Nothing better than getting a pack of cards and pulling a jersey card.

I agree when they first came out they were a very unique idea but now there are just too many, every brand, every issue has to have at least a dozen different jersey cards of each player. I do nt oeven get excitied about them anymore, just sigh and say "there's another overpriced card to add to my want/wish list" and move on. Or as is in ITG don't even have a care to try to get them. Pink Foil Stamp 1 of 1 Jeresy Card ........... pppfft whatever.

I like them and will continue to buy/trade for my PC players. But sometimes the cost outweighs the want. There are definately some nice looking patch cards.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

I love jersey cards. In many ways, they revolutionized the hobby, just like insert cards, serial-numbered cards and autos. I will admit, some sets go overboard with them, and I think many collectors get overwhelmed and disinterested due to the sheer volume of them. However, I feel they make the hobby more interesting.

Thank you to all your replies - in this group I am probably a very very small collector of cards. Honesly I only collect New Orleans Saints cards. I have them all from 1967 to today. Some are valuable but after the late 70's to today there are so many out there that the value is gone. When I see these jersey card and they are numbered I try to get them. I was just curious what everyone thinks and if they are good thing to collect or not. Thanks again.

I'm a card collector. I'm not an autograph collector. I'm not a memorabilia collector. Unfortunately, this trading card hobby is turning into an autograph & memorabilia hobby.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I say that if you collect a certain team or player that these cards are great. I would love to have jersey cards of any Rockets players and at least one Jordan jersey card.
Having a random jersey card from someone I don't collect is cool but I am not missing out if I don't have those cards.

The Jersey Cards and the Hat patches have caught my eye as well, they fit perfectly into my Team Logo collection. A bit pricey, so they are slow adds....I will be able to trade as I've accumulated some dupes, mainly 2012 Topps Update hat patches.
