1. Acquire a card to start.
2. Call yourself a super collector
3. profit
in all seriousness that’s it. You’re just publicly stating your collecting focus/intention by saying it yourself. As for what makes others consider you to be one, well that’s gonna vary. It’s jumped the shark ages ago

OK, so it's just a made up deal. I see in several people's profiles that they are ranked #whatever for a certain player. How do the

I view the difference between regular player collector and super collector as where you make your cut off. My player and team collections have a cut off at any cards below SN25. I will still keep smaller numbers if I get them, but I don't actively hunt them down, My view of a super collector means they are hunting for any and all up to and including 1 of 1 cards.

Playful sarcasm aside from above, a supercollector tends to focus on one player, or team or theme (autographs for example) and collects only those items excluding all else and then accumulates A LOT. One member off the top of my head here is DyeHardFan. He's a Royals collector, but an Alex Gordon supercollector. He's been featured in YouTube videos amongst other things showing off his collection.
The rankings you see member's post is just talking about their ranking of collection size for that player/team as it compares to other members on this site. There may be non-members with larger collections we don't know about. Same time, most of those members with the largest collections tend to be supercollectors as that is what they focus on collecting.

I would add to the "super collector" moniker the desire to collects as many copies as possible as well, I've seen guys up to hundreds of copies of a single base card, as well as any and everything they come across of their player.

I could probably buy the already complete sets cheaper somewhere else, but I like getting my maildays.

Hey everyone, I am Dustin and I created the Super Collectors Unite group that parsley24 shared. Just wanted to have a fun community where we can all share our collections, tips/tricks of the hobby, references, and even as a place to help each other out with our collections. Only rules is to be respectful and no selling (I figure there are enough groups out there for selling).
As far as what makes you a Super Collector, the 250 is an arbitrary number I came up with just so I don't have to keep track of everyone's 25 Michael Jordan cards. Haha. And you can be listed on the big board for up to 3 players. Team collectors, set collectors, autograph collectors are all welcome too, but I just don't keep track of your numbers.
