Sincere thanks to Vvvergeer for this thread and for the very kind words, much, much appreciated! We'll have to see if we can set up a trade one day.
And to answer v3's questions: 1) My avatar is my real license plate, BBCARDZ. In California BBCARDS was already taken (and I'd love to know who has it and if they're aware of TCDb). So I asked for and received my 2nd choice and I'm pretty happy with it. And it just seemed natural to make it my TCDb user name. And yes I'm kinda surprised no one had grabbed that name before me. I just wish I had made my user name all caps so it would match my license plate/avatar better. I think I'm going to contact admin and see if he can change my user name to all caps.
2) And regarding my lack of 1971 Topps baseball cards, that's a sad story. I had a good collection of them when I was a kid. So apparently I ticked off one of my siblings and they bent up all of my '71s. I was crushed. It was late summer of '71 and cards were getting scarce at the stores and being a low-budget family, it wasn't like I could easily get more cards. Nobody 'fessed up to wrecking my cards so they remain a hole in my collection.
I also want to thank everyone else for their kind words. I'm honored to be in the same club as other well-respected members.
Sorry I didn't respond to this thread sooner. but as some of you may know, I've been really busy working for my two employers at various SoCal stadiums (SoFi Stadium, the Rose Bowl, Angel Stadium and the LA Coliseum). But this trading card paradise we call TCDb and the TCDb forums is where I like to spend my online leisure time. Onward to 2000! (End of acceptance speech.)
