So, my Holy Grail for the last 35 years has been the Nolan Ryan RC (1968 Topps #177). Of course, it's also Jerry Koosman's RC (my best friend and I would jokingly refer to this as the "Koosman rookie") and that made wonder... if you weren't particularly a Nolan Ryan fan/collector but Jerry Koosman was your all-time favorite player, how annoying would it be that the RC of your favorite player is so expensive and not because of the player you collect?
So, that got me thinking about other examples of this. Anybody have a player collection that includes a shared rookie card that makes it harder to obtain?

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.

Not me, but Dodger completists have a hard time with the Ken McMullen (Pete Rose) RC.

I need this card to complete my Houston Colt 45s team set from 1963 Topps...
The guy on the bottom right's keeping me from it.

I need the same for my Michigan Baseball collection (Herrnstein). I'd love to own it to have Stargell's RC too, though!

As a team collector this really stinks because there are multiple instances where a card on my wantlist because of an obscure player is actually fairly expensive because of a higher profile player on the same card.
1962 Topps #594 Rookie Parade Catchers (Wanted for Doc Edwards, high profile because of Bob Uecker)
1963 Topps #228 (wanted for Max Alvis, high profile because of Pedro Oliva)
1963 Topps #466 (wanted for Tony Martinez, high profile because of Bill Freehan)
1977 Topps #476 (wanted for Gary Alexander, high profile because of Dale Murphy)

I can definitely relate to this as a team collector. I'm working on all time Topps team set runs for the Phillies and Padres.
For my 63 Topps Phillies set, I need the John Herrnstein with the Stargell RC.
At least the 73 Topps Schmidt/Hilton RC counts for both for me. Haha

This is why I hate multiple player RC cards.
-------------------------------
Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I collect Bill Dillman cards because we share a last name, but haven't shelled out for a rookie yet because he shares the card with Mark Belanger who ups the value substantially.
