I tried that, for a seller who clearly has hockey cards, but the results were only baseball. It looks like the right seller, when I clicked on one of the cards, it was his name, but I can't see any way to turn off the baseball selection ?

I just tried this, and there are filters on the left side (I'm doing this on PC), and was able to see a seller's hockey selection only.

I too was concerned that I was unable to search by seller. I was also concerned that no hockey cards from the late 60's and early 70's were showing up on the search results. So, how I found a way as follows:
Go to the very bottom of the page - at "Search by set" select the sport you want - select the decade - select the year - select the set - then you are back to the way it used to be, where you can click on the seller to see their postage rates, or select "details" and get to the seller's information and are able to view their inventory.
I hope this helps some of you - I know this is how I will use it from now on.

What theory? Cards are sorted by year, alphabetically by set title, then by card number. Just like TCDB, COMC, Beckett, or any other website. If too many results come back in your search, refine your search parameters.
There are multiple ways to search by seller. Click the 'Preferred Sellers' tab at the top and then click on a sellers name. Or on any search result, filter by seller on the lefthand side. Then if you clear the search bar and hit enter, you will be viewing only that sellers inventory.

tried serchiing for seller and worked, thank you
just cant believe that when you search for a card and it shows you who has it, there no direct link to click to get to that sellers page

How many do you need? The search bar itself is saving at least the ten previous searches. I was surprised to find it saves the filters too, not just the searched text.
