UPDATE: SO I went ahead and sent money using the "Friends and Family" option in PayPal. It looks like the seller was not charged a fee, but I was charged $3.95 CAD (about $2.80 USD). A lot for a $13 purchase! I never thought about jdogg1228 's idea of doing it through Ebay. But I know the seller would have been charged a fee to sell. I am not sure if it would have been less than the fee I paid to send through PayPal though. And on a side note... I agree 100% with T206's take on cash versus digital currency.

Wow! I just looked up ebay fees for selling cards... 13.25% of final price (including shipping) + $0.30! That reinforces my decision years ago to stop selling stuff on Ebay. unbelievable! I guess that buying cards through ebya from a TCDB members is not a better option than sending money direct with PayPal. :( 

I recently tried the eBay route instead of PayPal fees but I the seller wasn't sure how to go aboit getting around international shipping. So that would have been an additional $13 for $5 of cards. I know there are ways to not charge so much for shipping but personally I have listed anything on eBay recently so I don't know all the ins and outs.

If someone knows, maybe I'll pursue that $5 deal again (I'd pay the ebay fees for the seller)
