While waiting in line to buy all this Easter-based stuff for the kids, I saw some combo sports card packs in the shelves before the check out. Football, basketball, and baseball, yet the baseball had an interesting look:
I couldn't believe there were Japanese baseball card packs in Walgreens. There were two packs in each collection ($8 for each), but the hidden second packs turned out to be the American versions of the 2023 Topps Series 1 and 2022 Topps Series 1. I found it interesting that the makers of this product wanted to promote the Japanese cards and not the American ones as I'm not sure who their audience was (apart from me). Admittedly, if they showed the 2022/2023 pack first I would probably have ignored it even if the price per pack wasn't too bad.
Pulled a Murakami base card and a chrome refractor of another guy, so overall a fun discovery.

Nope, just the regular ones. My picture maybe came out rather large perhaps.

Cash grab, they also have these atrocious Pokemon random card packs, probably same company. If you enjoyed it then I guess it wasn't a waste. If you are curious, this was my opening of the Pokemon one https://youtube.com/shorts/9vhL9mAwZIg

Found these at my Walgreens too. I also pulled a base Murakami and a Prismic Power Masataka. I was surprised to find cards from the UK in the little boxes I got as well. Honestly these foreign packs are one of the only reasons I enter Walgreens anymore, lol.

I agree about those being the only reason to bother with Walgreens. The Chrome NPB have been showing up in a bunch of stuff this last 6 months. They are hobby sets so have great SN and color parallels and inserts. Frankly they seem to have more consistent hits than the hobby box of a couple things that netted almost nothing from. Like the heritage and Archive sets. I recently wentvthru and have stuff from Seiya Suzuki, Adam jones, Koufax senga , Dice K, Masataka Yoshida kid in Boston. I’ve been grabbing them up whenever in can and now i have more than a few dupes if anyone is interested reach out. I’m tidying up and gonna open back up to trading by this weekend hopefully, feel free to holler at me here or in a message and we start putting something together. Randy.

These packs are my reward for picking up prescriptions at my Walgreens. Mine always has UK - I've never seen the NPB.

Good way to look at it. I would buy a hanger box of repacks as my reward for getting outside and walking the neighborhood for exercise. Managed melt off like 15+ pounds without hardly noticing but for my belt need to be pulled tighter. I guess I was too busy stacking little card boxes in every space available. Hardy har har. Randy
