Have been wondering what other people do to maintain inventory. It seems like most sellers only track their higher end cards. I went to a local card show and it seems like most have no idea what they have unless its high end. One dealer had bar codes on every single card and another took pictures of everything he sold. The bar codes on every card seemed excessive and taking pics and adjusting inventory later seems like a headache. I was wondering what other sellers use

I’m rather new as well, not really selling (but I’m willing to) but I buy up lots on eBay hunting for my Pc and trade off the rest. I’d be interested in any methods to keep that on track. I probably have to make a point of doing updates as get things, to that end I have a collection called bullpen where I put things in blue only and then split parts of a set to my pc and main trades collection. Unfortunately I don’t have enough space for lots of 4-5 row boxes and tend to use the 3-800 Ct long boxes they came in to sort and then stash all the dips of a heritage set or something. I’ve got various tricks tike turning blocks of cards upside down, backwards etc. But how do those of you have a lot coming in and out AND doing so purely for the hobby not as your main source of income. I really need to streamline my sorting, listing trading and shipping so this doesn’t become a full time job without an income. R

I personally have an excel file that I enter and update as new cards come in. The quantity, year, number, name, serial #, mem info, auto?, and I'll bold the line if it's a graded card, as well as have the grade in another column.
It was a very time consuming process, but has helped not by many many many duplicates.

Is there a way to update your list here via excel? I actually use the database here to keep track of I have a card while out at a LCS. Always got my phone but don’t have a great way to read or fill out word docs, spreadsheets and so on. To say nothing of trade matching. 😄. Thanks. Randy

In response to SirNailhead, and throwing it out there for TCDb folks, including all members. Most of us are mobile. How about a TCDb App? This would allow collectors/traders to buy, sell, trade, maintain their collection. Maybe with connections to different payments Apps...

You do know there's is only one person who owns/runs this site.

You can definitely put in a feature request but I believe it would be difficult to get implemented.
This site works very well on mobile devices as is. True, it could always be better (as can be said for all sites) and there are some features like payment method webservices, etc., that don't exist. But the amount of effort vs. payoff probably cannot be justified by admin, as TCDb was really designed to be a database and not an alternative to eBay, etc.
Just my two cents.

The app issue is addressed in the FAQ

GoldenEagles555 hits everything on the head in the quoted post. As noted, you can certainly submit a feature request, but there is no indication that Admin has any desire to change the stated stance. TCDB on a mobile browser works very well.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.
