Guys,
I waver between putting my small collection of Barry Bonds on the Trade List or My Collection.I began collecting him at around '90 because he was a talented player, and I was a big fan of his father, Bobby Bonds, while he was with the Giants.
Then PEDs happened.
So, very simply; Would you personally collect his cards or not?
Coram Deo,
Joshua

i do. Even w/o the PEDs he was one of the most talented players of his generation. The fact that he holds the HR records still makes him a legend considering many others also took the same drugs but still didn't accomplish what he did.

Sure. Unless you loathe him so much that you absolutely can't bear to have his card around, why not collect the all-time home run leader.
Don't collect Bud Selig cards, though.

Certainly. I purchased numerous boxes of 1986 Topps Traded sets when prices plummeted. I remain a strong supporter of the 1987 Topps set: factory sets, wax boxes, vending packs, etc. Although, I'm glad the game was cleaned up, I still feel for some of the greats of the era: Bonds, McGwire, Sosa, Clemens, etc.

I like the points shared. It is amazing that he launched so many homers with as many walks as he was issued each game. Juiced or not he still had to hit and face the best pitchers in the world.
I've always leaned toward keeping his cards, and I probably will, unless I just get overwhelmed with an offer.
Thanks for the discussion, guys.
Coram Deo,
Joshua

I would not go out of my way to obtain any of his cards. Not only the PEDs but the piece of body armor he wore on his right arm so he could hang in and not have to worry about getting hit by an inside pitch.

I agree with NJ on this one. I don't like when batters can were crap like that. That stuff should be illegal. I can understand protecting the head. The rest of the body is fair game, as long as he's in the batter's box legally.

I think he is referring to Aaron Hernandez ex Patriots player.
